I was asked to design a template that was using anchors. The body of the email was very long and had a table of contents followed by many articles. The idea was to utilize anchors to jump from a link in the table of contents directly to the related article.
While anchors worked well on a desktop, they did not work when viewed on mobile devices. For example, anchors did not work on the iPhone 5 and iPhone 6.
Mobile devices don’t support anchors. Period. Don’t bother to create anchors inside the email body. Instead, create a web page that hosts your articles and then anchor the links from the email body to the articles on the created web page.
