I was asked to design a template that was using anchors. The body of the email was very long and had a table of contents followed by many articles. The idea was to utilize anchors to jump from a link in the table of contents directly to the related article.

Creating templates for emails can be tricky at times. All templates for emails have to follow certain rules in order to render correctly on major email clients, many of which are still very stubborn and don’t adapt well to new code generation. I had to create a template that had a Call to Action text link. The link had to keep its original color after being clicked on and not to change it to the system’s default blue. The reason for maintaining the original color was that Outlook’s default blue clashed horribly with the designer’s page colors.
